About Laura Mitchell
Founder Laura Mitchell brings fifteen years of experience in facilitation, community building, strategic planning, marketing, and economic and leadership development to LM Strategy LLC. Since founding her consulting agency in 2014, she has consulted across health care, nonprofit, municipal, banking, engineering, law, higher education, and regional associations. She has also worked extensively on public health and social change projects.
Laura believes in the power of maintaining a positive mindset, creating partnerships for positive change, striving for productive relationships, and achieving meaningful outcomes together. From reaching important milestones to creating a growth path, Laura's job is to assist you in developing a process to get there. She will tailor her services to meet your every need.
Laura is a certified trainer and authorized distributor of Wiley's Everything DiSC behavior and work style assessments. These reports are foundational tools for building self awareness and team development. Laura also is certified in supporting team development and results using the 5 Behaviors of a Cohesive Team assessment. She uses these tools extensively in her work.
Laura attended the University of Maine, where she earned a B.S. and then an M.S. in Environmental Science with a concentration in Resource Economics and Policy. Before consulting, Laura led programs at the United Way of Eastern Maine, Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce, and Eastern Maine Development Corporation. In addition, Laura worked for The Leggat Company marketing commercial real estate in Boston and as a strategic planner for Lot 21, an online web development and advertising agency in San Francisco.
Laura values family, being active outside, time for art, hosting friends, supporting vulnerable populations, reading to learn, gardening, and building community. She has volunteered on a land trust board, served on a municipal historic preservation and planning committee, coached youth soccer and basketball, and volunteered in her children's schools.
